CITY OF KINGSBURY SPECIAL ELECTION
On November 7, 2017, the City of Kingsbury held a Special Election.
On the ballot was a proposal to extend the length of the the terms of the city commission members from two to four years.
Texas statutes state that terms are to be staggered so that not all offices are up for election at one time. The city commission of Kingsbury has already passed an ordinance requiring the terms of the commission members to be staggered.
Having four year terms will allow for continuity of officers and will also save money.
Elections can cost into the thousands of dollars, and having the length of term to be four years will require an election every two years instead of every single year as it would be now with the two year and staggered terms.
Kingsbury voted "For" Proposition A!
"Thank You" to the citizens of Kingsbury for thinking of our future!
